It wasn’t hard for the Japanese designer Yukari Suda to find the perfect brand name. The rural Pas de Calais region in Northern France certainly appeals to the imagination. From the coast, there is a beautiful, far-reaching view of misty landscapes and foamy waves beating against white cliffs. Furthermore, this French region is world-famous for its delicate lace, which is made using an ingenious technique that fascinates Suda. The Japanese Pas de Calais is therefore an ode to old-fashioned country life and traditional craftsmanship. In the collection, this is translated into earthy colours such as ecru, khaki green, charcoal grey or brown sand tones. The resulting collection is both pared-down and comfortable.
